Bait Alsafah
Site Description
Bait Al Safaa is a cultural landmark in Al Hamra. Built during the Ya'aruba era over 400 years ago, during the reign of Sheikh Zahran bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Abri, the house became a political and social center in the region, serving as the seat of government and the source of directives. It was his residence and that of his descendants. Several prominent figures, including scholars, judges, and governors, emerged from this house. The idea for the Bait Al Safaa project arose in 2005, aiming to showcase Omani life to visitors. The museum allows visitors to experience the daily customs and traditions of Omani people firsthand through the presentation of various traditional dishes, displays of handicrafts and traditional industries such as spinning, weaving, palm frond crafts, tailoring, date syrup extraction, shua oil production, and rosewater making, in addition to folk arts like Al-Razha and Al-Azi.
